2. What We Provide

Origentum offers digitally delivered narrative documents in several product lines:

• The Portrait — A narrative of one ancestor's life across all dimensions of their daily experience.
• The Military Chapter, The Immigration Chapter, The Marriage Chapter, The Freedom Chapter, and The Catastrophe Chapter — Focused narratives about specific defining experiences in one ancestor's life.
• The Thread — A single cultural or analytical dimension (food, health, language, work, etc.) traced across multiple generations of one family line.
• The Ancestral Journey — A travel guide to your ancestor's homeland, featuring heritage sites and cultural context.
• Mini-Bundles — Thematic multi-dimension analyses across a family line.
• The Complete Thread — All thirteen dimensions analyzed across one family line.

All products are delivered as digital documents (PDF or Google Doc link) by email within 48 hours of confirmed payment, unless otherwise stated at the time of order.

3. AI-Generated Content — Important Disclaimer

We believe our products have real historical and emotional value — but we want customers to understand what they are purchasing: a beautifully crafted, research-informed narrative, not a certified genealogical record.

4. Orders and Payment

Orders are placed through our online checkout form. Upon order submission, you will receive a confirmation email. Payment is collected via a secure Stripe payment link sent to your email address. Your order enters production upon confirmation of payment.

• All prices are displayed in U.S. dollars (USD).
• Prices are subject to change. The price shown at the time of your order is the price you will be charged.
• Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. Origentum does not collect, store, or have access to your credit card number or full payment details. Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy govern the payment transaction.
• Sales tax may be applied where required by law.

5. Delivery

Standard delivery is within 48 hours of payment confirmation. Delivery times may vary for complex orders (such as The Complete Thread) or during high-volume periods. We will notify you by email if delivery will be delayed beyond 48 hours.

Documents are delivered by email to the address provided at checkout. Please ensure your email address is correct before submitting your order. Origentum is not responsible for non-delivery due to an incorrect or full email inbox.

6. Refund Policy

Because our products are custom-created digital documents prepared specifically for your order, we generally do not offer refunds once production has begun.

• Before production begins: If you contact us before your order enters production (typically within 2 hours of payment), we will provide a full refund.
• After delivery: If you believe your delivered document contains a material error — for example, if we used incorrect ancestor information due to a processing error on our part — please contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will review your concern and, at our discretion, revise or reprocess the document, or issue a partial or full refund.
• Dissatisfaction with narrative style or tone is not grounds for a refund, as the AI-generated narrative approach is described before purchase. However, we want you to be happy — please reach out and we will do our best to address concerns.

7. Your Responsibilities

By placing an order, you confirm that:

• The information you provide about your ancestor (name, birth year, birthplace, etc.) is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• If you upload a GEDCOM file, you have the right to share the family tree data it contains. You are responsible for ensuring the file does not contain personal information about living individuals that you are not authorized to share.
• You will use the delivered document for personal, non-commercial purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing with Origentum.
• You will not misrepresent our AI-generated narrative as a certified genealogical record, legal document, or official historical record.

8. Intellectual Property

Your document: Upon full payment, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use, print, share, and display the document delivered to you. You may share it with family members and include it in personal family histories or memorial materials. You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially distribute any document delivered to you.

Our proprietary systems: The following are the exclusive intellectual property of Origentum, LLC and are protected by copyright, trade secret, and other applicable law: the Origentum Genealogical Intelligence Engine; the 13-Dimension analytical framework; the evidence tier classification system; all proprietary historical databases and compilations (including but not limited to occupation classifiers, archetype libraries, military conflict databases, immigration port and voyage condition databases, settlement pattern databases, civic legislation timelines, wage and labor benchmarks, workplace injury and child labor rate tables, health metrics lookup tables, witnessed moments event databases, record availability estimators, and state-specific legal history databases); all prompt architecture, scoring algorithms, and AI orchestration systems; all report templates, section structures, and visual design systems; and all product specifications, assembly rules, and methodology documentation.

The delivery of a document to you does not transfer any rights to our underlying systems, methodologies, databases, or technology. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract any underlying data, algorithms, or methods from any delivered document.

Your data: You retain all rights to the personal information and GEDCOM data you provide. We use it only to fulfill your order and delete it as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your personal data or GEDCOM files to train AI models.

9. GEDCOM and Personal Data

If you upload a GEDCOM family tree file as part of your order:

• The file is used solely to extract relevant ancestor data to enrich your product.
• The file and all extracted data are permanently deleted after your document is generated.
• We do not store, archive, index, or share your GEDCOM file or its contents.
• We do not use your family data to train AI models.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Origentum, LLC's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to our products or services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific order giving rise to the claim.

Origentum shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to emotional distress arising from historical content in the document, loss of data, or loss of business opportunities.

We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the historical accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of our AI-generated narratives.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post the updated terms on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify customers by email.
