We tell the stories that records alone cannot.

What Origentum Does

Genealogy gives you names and dates. Origentum gives you meaning. Our research engine analyzes historical records, occupation data, migration patterns, health conditions, and social structures to produce a thoughtful portrait of who your ancestor was — not just when they were born and when they died, but what their days actually looked like.

What This Is Not

Origentum is not a family tree builder. Not a DNA testing service. Not a record-search tool. We do not search for records — we interpret the ones that exist.

Every claim in every portrait is grounded in one of three evidence tiers: Documented (cited in records), Probable (consistent with the historical evidence), or Contextual (typical for this place, era, and occupation). We never disguise speculation as fact.

The Credibility Engine

The Three-Tier Evidence Framework

Every claim in an Origentum portrait is labeled. You always know what is known, what is inferred, and what is contextual. This is our commitment to intellectual honesty.

Tier 1 — Documented
"The 1880 census records her as a domestic servant in Suffolk County, Massachusetts."

Directly cited in primary records. The strongest claim.

Tier 2 — Probable
"The records suggest she arrived through Castle Garden, the primary immigration facility serving this port in her arrival year."

Consistent with the historical evidence for this person, time, and place. Clearly marked as inference.

Tier 3 — Contextual
"Families in this region and era typically ate potatoes, oats, and preserved pork. Fresh meat appeared rarely, reserved for Sundays or celebrations."

Typical for this era, geography, and occupation. Historical context, not personal claim.

The Engine

Behind every portrait is a research engine that draws on 87 types of historical records, a 394-entry occupation database that maps job titles to working conditions and health risks, an 11-archetype classification system, and a 13-dimension analytical framework covering food, clothing, shelter, language, religion, education, health, migration, arts, death, civic life, work, and wealth. One engine powers every product. One improvement benefits every family.

Who It's For

Origentum is for people who ask deeper questions: Why do certain struggles or strengths repeat in my family? What did my ancestors endure, and what did they pass down? What am I carrying forward — intentionally or not?

Thoughtful individuals and families who want to understand where they truly come from — not just names and dates.

Therapists and educators exploring intergenerational patterns and the roots of family behavior.

Estate planners and legacy advisors building meaningful family history packages.

Anyone who believes identity is shaped over time — and that understanding the past helps us live with more intention.

Why Now

In a fast, fragmented world,
people are searching for grounding.

They want to understand where they come from — not out of nostalgia, but to live with greater clarity, intention, and purpose. Origentum exists to meet that moment. Because when people understand what has been passed down, they are better equipped to choose what comes next.
